Star Steel Industries designs, details, and manufactures high-strength primary framing systems tailored to optimize internal floor space, manage heavy structural loads, and maintain absolute structural integrity. All columns and rafters of our rigid primary frames are constructed from tapered built-up "I" sections. These components are engineered with factory-welded end plates for secure anchoring to concrete foundations and for robust member-to-member attachment.
To facilitate rapid on-site deployment, all rigid frame connections are entirely bolted, and primary frames are supplied with pre-punched holes or welded clips for the immediate attachment of purlins, girts, and bracing components.
Our Framing Profile Range
We offer a versatile library of standard structural framing shapes to meet specific spatial and architectural project profiles:
- Clear Span (CS):
- Design Features: Built with a symmetric gable roof, vertical sidewalls, and vertical endwalls.
- Interior Configuration: Interior bay frames are rigid span frames designed entirely without interior columns.
- Primary Utility: Delivers maximum unobstructed floor space, making it the ideal layout for logistics warehouses, manufacturing plants, and auditoriums.
- Multi-Span (MS):
- Design Features: Features a gable roof with vertical sidewalls and vertical endwalls tailored for large building footprints.
- Interior Configuration: Interior bay frames are rigid frames featuring tapered exterior columns, tapered rafters, and built-up or square tube interior support columns.
- Primary Utility: Distributes massive structural loads evenly through internal grid columns, making it best suited for heavy-duty industrial complexes and wide factories.
- Lean-To (LT):
- Design Features: Consists of outer sidewall columns and simple span rafters that link directly to the sidewall columns or endwall posts of an adjacent main building.
- Interior Configuration: Built with columns of a constant depth, utilizing rafters that can be either tapered or of a constant depth depending on span requirements.
- Primary Utility: Engineered as an efficient, highly cost-effective solution for expanding existing structural footprints or adding side utility sheds.
- Multi-Gable (MG):
- Design Features: Features an advanced roof system engineered with two or more gables alongside vertical sidewalls and endwalls.
- Interior Configuration: Interior bay frames are rigid frameworks typically composed of tapered exterior columns, tapered rafters, and built-up interior columns.
- Primary Utility: Provides exceptional structural versatility and space coverage for wide, complex manufacturing layouts requiring multiple ridge points.
System Component Architecture
A Star Steel PEB is built as a highly precise, bolt-together structural envelope:
- Primary Framework: Columns and rafters are custom-built using tapered welded "I" sections. These primary members feature factory-welded end plates engineered for high-strength anchoring to foundations and seamless member-to-member bolted attachment.
- Secondary Framing Members: We supply pre-punched, cold-formed "Z" shaped sections for purlins and girts, and pre-punched, cold-formed "C" shaped sections for eave struts. The eave strut provides longitudinal structural bracing and serves as the critical transition point for wall and roof cladding
- Weather-Proof Cladding: Roof and wall panels are roll-formed to the maximum practical length to drastically minimize end laps, ensuring a water-tight, leak-proof industrial seal.
Versatile Market Applications
Our pre-engineered building systems are tailored to accommodate the diverse operational workflows and space profiles of global industries:
- Industrial Logistics: Large-scale manufacturing factories, workshops, and high-capacity storage warehouses.
- Aviation & Transport: High-clearance aircraft hangars and transport hubs requiring wide clear spaces.
- Agriculture & Processing: Automated bakeries, modern dairy farms, and optimized cold storage sheds.
- Commercial & Public Space: Clear-span auditoriums, community halls, showrooms, and rapidly deployable hospital wings.
